Feature 1
In the first of our updates, we’ve upgraded and completely overhauled course listings with the brand-new Lesson & Module List Element.
Here at OptimizePress, we know just how important it is to keep your customers engaged and interested.
As a business owner, you understand the value your course provides and it can be disheartening when customers fail to fully engage with the course content you've created… That is until now.
With the Lesson & Module List Element, we’ve introduced powerful features to encourage your customers to click on your content and take action.
In order to demonstrate just how powerful this element is, let’s take a look at an example use case that you can apply to your own business or perhaps use to help inspire you to come up with your own creative applications.
‘Golf Driving essentials’ is a course dedicated to teaching new students of all levels to deliver the perfect drive. The course is separated into 3 modules that are drip-fed to the student.

With the Lesson & Module List Element on the course homepage, the course content is neatly displayed to show what’s currently available and the upcoming lessons. This is a powerful way to encourage your students to continue logging into your course.
To add this element to your page, you will find it listed on the element listings sidebar.

Please Note: This element will only show if you have OptimizeMentor activated and once you have set up and published your course modules and lessons.
When adding the element to your page, you will be presented with an options screen to simply select a course from the dropdown.
In doing so, you will be asked to confirm the selection, which will insert the element along with its modules and lessons, ready to begin editing.

With the element on your page, you will be able to select from a range of preset designs that are fully customisable.

Clicking on the lessons section on the element, then clicking on the Watch icon on the menu bar followed by the State tab. You will be able to select from the different states your modules and lessons can be viewed, which can be independently edited.
For this example, we edited the Dripped state, which will define how content that is not yet available (delayed by our drip content feature) is displayed to new students upon enrollment on the course.

With the element now designed to match the brand, the next step is to quickly drip-schedule the modules and lessons.
You can learn more in the Drip-Scheduling knowledge base article which explains in detail how to “drip” your content over a schedule of your choosing.
For this example, we set the second module to release 4 days after the student has enrolled, with module three released 9 days later.

With your drip schedule set, the Lesson & Module List Element will correctly display the release schedule to reflect the settings.

As you can see, when combined with the powerful drip-scheduling features inside OptimizeMentor, you can quickly and easily build anticipation for what’s to come and encourage engagement in your future modules.
What we have shown only scratches the surface of how the Lesson & Module List Element can be used.
Here are a few more ideas to get your creative juices flowing:
With the Lesson & Module List Element and OptimizePress’ powerful suite at your disposal, you have endless opportunities to promote your course content and engage members.
Please see our dedicated Lesson & Module List Element article for a more comprehensive guide on its powerful features.
Now we know what you’re thinking… You may have seen this and wondered how cool it would be to be able to use it on pages outside of your course so you can showcase your content to new customers who have yet to buy.
Well, we’ve got you covered…
Feature 2
In the world of marketing, proof and credibility play a major factor in getting people to like and trust you.
Traditionally, the only way to do this is through testimonials and getting endorsements from other trusted authority figures in your industry.
However, this still doesn’t confirm whether your product could be a good fit for your prospects which is a major factor in their buying decision.
Offering a “live” preview of certain lessons or course content is a highly effective way to give your potential customers a taste of what your course has to offer.
This is a strategy that’s already in use on popular online course sites like Udemy and Creativelive:

Our new Lesson Preview feature allows you to unlock any page from your course (course homepage, modules or lessons) for a free preview, so the content can be viewed without requiring the usual access to that course.
As with everything in OptimizePress, we’ve made setup easy and straightforward.
Simply go into your course module or lesson edit options, turn on the ‘Enable Preview’ toggle and save the changes.

Your selected modules and lessons will now be available to preview for all of your visitors to view with the Lesson & Module List Element embedded on your sales pages or anywhere on your website.

For more information on course previews, please see the course preview section in the List & Module List Element article in our knowledge base.
Feature 3
Our next feature update will allow you to organise your course content better, giving customers easier navigation and improving retention.
If you have a collection of courses, setting up taxonomies will result in a better student experience.
At OptimizePress, we have gone the extra mile by adding even greater flexibility on how taxonomies can be applied to your courses. You will no longer be limited to the taxonomies offered on a typical membership platform.
You can completely customise how you would like your content organised.
To set up taxonomies, you will find it in the settings area inside OptimizeMentor under the Course Taxonomies tab.

Clicking on the Add Taxonomy (2) button will launch a setup screen, allowing you to add your first taxonomy.

Here, you can provide a Name, and a Singular Name and assign where you would like the taxonomy to be used with the three toggles provided.
For our golf example, we’ve added two taxonomies: Course Categories and Difficulties.
Once you’ve added your taxonomy, new options will appear to add new terms to your newly created taxonomy.
We’ve added different golf swings that can be applied to the different courses that cover that specific topic.

Once you have added your taxonomies, you will see them listed inside your course, module and/or lesson settings depending on where you’ve set your taxonomies to be used in your courses.

Finally, we’ve added the ability to show your taxonomy directly on your page using the Course Taxonomy Element.

This will allow you to display your taxonomy anywhere on your page to style and customize.

For more information on Course Taxonomies, please see our knowledge base article.
Feature 4
Last but not least, we have added the ability for customers to freely edit their user profile.
If you’ve ever experienced being inundated with email messages from customers who have lost their passwords or would like to change certain fields in their profile, then you will know how time-consuming this process can be.
With the User Profile Element, we have finally put an end to countless hours editing and emailing customers and giving you more time to focus on promoting your business.
To add the User Profile Element to your pages, you can find it in the elements sidebar menu.

Adding the element to your page will open up the setup window, allowing you to select which fields you would like displayed on the form.

You can also assign where to send your visitors and customers after they have updated their form details.

Here is a form we set up in our golfing example that allows customers the option to change their password details:

For more information on the User Profile Element, please see our knowledge base article.
With these powerful new OptimizeMentor features, we have provided even greater flexibility and freedom to run your business in a way that best suits you.
We'd love to know how you plan to use these features in your business!
Please let us know in the comments and share any new features you'd like added to OptimizePress…
